partnership with Kingston University Business School 2009-2012

In 2009  & 2012 we partnered with Kingston University Business School, Centre for Research in Employment, Skills and Society, to undertake the very first detailed academic research into the Secretarial/PA role; a ground-breaking study.

One aspect of the research found that many did not believe their job enabled them to use their full abilities, indicating many organisations are wasting the talents of the UK's 800,000 plus office professionals.

The academic research was then published in Academic Journals in 2012 as 'Ghetto Occupation in the 21st Century' with 'bleak career prospects'.

We work closely with our Fellow Members (Board Level, Director EAs and PAs) to collaborate with organisations on engaging, enhancing and positioning office professional talent.

The research also revealed a high proportion of the sector would welcome a professionally recognised EA/PA qualification that could elevate the status of the role. In partnering with Birkbeck, University of London (2013-2020)  we collaborated on a Certificate in Higher Management for PAs (CertHE ManPAs) 120 credit programme, the first year of a degree in Business & Management.  With Birkbeck we worked on designing the programme offering Office Professionals the opportunity to develop their business knowledge and management skills and gain a recognised qualification from one of the UK's top Universities.  As a result of the programme many EAs & PAs received promotion on their return to the office.

Since 2013 we have seen the role responsibilities expand significantly with the advances in technology. EAs & PAs now work autonomously and have multiple responsibilities, which are leading them into Management roles. Accredited courses and Qualifications are the way forward . Global PA is setting the pace in the industry on this exponential rise of the profession.
We are the only EA & PA Training Company in the World to offer Digital Credentials with the ILM, City & Guilds, the No. 1 Awarding Body in the UK for Qualifications.

Following a highly successful career with some of the UK's largest companies and in the UK Parliament.

Rosemary Parr founded the Global PA Association & Training Academy in 2007, which was launched at the BT Tower in April 2007, supported by Sir Christopher Bland (former Chairman of BT plc).

In the last 14 years the Global PA Association has established itself as the global leader in the training and development of executive assistants, personal assistants, secretaries, office managers, administrators and virtual assistants.

Rosemary has travelled the world extensively in the last 12 years delivering motivational and productive training programmes for clients. Her work has taken her to Taiwan, Brunei, Hong Kong, Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Singapore, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Dubai, Australia and Switzerland to name but a few.

Rosemary recognised the need for professional development for EAs and PAs while working as the Executive Assistant to Sir Christopher Bland (Chairman of BT plc 2001-2007). In 2003 the BT PA Network was established by Rosemary to bring together this vital workforce sector, motivate and inspire and offer them professional development opportunities.

The network was extremely successful and celebrity networking events were held regularly at the BT Tower with PA guests from BT's top customers. Speakers included Will Carling, Angela Mortimer, Dr Hilary Jones and Ellen McArthur.

She is frequently interviewed by the media about women entrepreneurs, working mums and the role of women in the workplace and has featured on BBC World Service, The Times, Sunday Times and other publications.
